Seek, and you shall find...
Perth CBD is chock full of laneway action these days, filled with small bars, great foodie
options and cool clothing and homewares stores. Start at Shafto Lane, with the funky
Pigeonhole, The Generous Squire and The Burger Bistro, then secondly Wolf Lane, with
Cheeky Sparrow and Wolf Lane Bar, then thirdly, head down to Howard Hill, where you will
find Andaluz and Helvetica. If that’s not enough, cross the Horseshoe Bridge and head onto
William Street, where you will find Ezra Pound tucked down an inside lane. Don’t forget
London Court, Trinity Arcade, and the other smattering of inside ‘laneways’ to seek out.

THE PERTH MINT
Experience WA’s heart of gold
Watch 200 ounces of pure gold being poured to form a gleaming, solid gold bar in the
original Melting House. Marvel at the world’s largest collection of gold bars and natural
gold nuggets as they gleam from the darkness of the 1899 vault. See the biggest coin ever
made, weighing 1 tonne of pure gold. Get up close and touch more than $700,000 worth of
gold bullion. Take the time to shop for unique treasures at The Perth Mint Shop, including
Kailis Jewellery and Argyle Pink Diamonds. Tax free sales are available.
Take to the paths around the Swan...
Around the Swan River, there are walking and cycling tracks that meander through the
differing suburbs that the Swan hugs. Take to the paths in Peppermint Grove, Crawley,
Applecross or Claremont for a serene walk or ride. You will be amazed at the flora that
grows along these trails, along with the bird and marine life that you will see. Make sure
you keep an eye out for the friendly dolphins, pelicans and black and white swans that swim
(and float) in the river. Around these trails you will also find small cafes and restaurants
perfect for a quick coffee stop.
