A trip to the coast brings a whole host of pastimes, from paddling the
inlet to getting up close to some of the most ancient lifeforms known to
man. Inland, the focus is on festivals and events.
Lovers of adventure will be lovers
of Peel, with miles of trails, tracks,
and unknown paths to explore.
TIM’S THICKET | The tracks leading from
Preston Beach north to Tim’s Thicket are some of
the best in the area, with the option to break up
the driving with a spot of beach fishing.
FOREST TRACKS | The Captain Fawcett
Commemorative 4WD track is inland from Lane
Poole Reserve. A 100km easy to medium grade
track that takes in jarrah forest, homesteads,
belt lines, and old trestle bridges.
WATEROUS TRAIL | A 61km looping trail that
connects the Waroona Dam with the Munda Biddi
cycle track. Perfect for families and beginners.
See the ‘clots’
Lake Clifton is home to 120m by 6km of
thrombolites – one of the largest collections
of the living rocks in the southern hemisphere.
Go to the races
Operating since 1891, Pinjarra Park
holds with races on most Wednesdays,
Thursdays and Sundays.
Paddle the Inlet
to the Estuary
About 7km long, this paddle takes you from
the Peel Inlet to the Mandurah Estuary, past
the bridges and the islands. An open-water
paddle, it is dependant on wind and water
conditions, so be prepared at all times.
The place to be if you
have an interest in classic
motor vehicles. Alongside
the show there is a huge
market with craft stalls,
produce and wine tastings,
entertainment and games
for the kids.
With multiple riding
categories, country and
western cabaret, dragon
boat racing, Friday night
food and market stalls,
the Lions Rodeo will be an
