Lee and Derek Baston own Baston & Co
Property, and spruik this great strip and the
people who live, work and play near it.
CROW BOOKS | The kids immerse themselves in
comics and all things ‘vampire’, while we hit the
central leather couch to leaf through a travel book,
or ROFL at the witty array of cards for all occasions.
WOVEN AND WILLOW | Mother-daughter duo Deborah and Kristy listened to the cry from locals for more women’s and
children’s fashion some years ago, and Woven was born in 2007. These ladies have not looked back.
NOSH GOURMET FOOD & GIFTS | If you needed the definition of ‘Heaven’, here it is. It’s got chocolate, cheeses, dips – the
majority of which is WA-made – as well as a great range of giftware, cookbooks and gift hampers for any occasion.
WHITE LILY HOME AND GIFT | We dare you to leave without buying something. A recently added section for the men in
your life has proved popular, as have the quirky soaps, beautiful leather travel wallets, and adorable baby section.
TOYS IN THE PARK | It’s how we remember toy stores being, before the big chains and the internet. Chances are that the
owner, Jan, will know exactly which Lego pack you bought your child last. Free gift-wrapping is always a bonus.
THE GOOD STORE | Our family and many others travel from all over Perth to this store. Don’t know what to get someone
who has everything? This really is your shop. Plus, the service is always top notch.

Elethea Molloy owns The Little Print Shop
with her husband, Andy.
THE PRECINCT | Great beer and wines, both local
and imported, plus a cool open-space layout with
an interesting alternative-style menu. Pull up
a window seat after work, and watch the world go by.
THE BALMORAL | This is where Andy and I met, so on
a personal level it’s always a bit special. Their menu has
come on in leaps and bounds over the last 12 months
or so, and they now do some amazing food. The beer’s
cold, and on a hot day, with the mist fans on in the
beer garden, you can’t ask for much more.
THE PUBLICAN | Great for live music, and there’s
always interesting stuff going on. They offer a really nice
choice of tapas-style eats and a la carte menu dining.
VIC PARK HOTEL | A little further down the track for
me, this is great for a casual pub meal but has a dining
section, too. More of a sports bar in feel, but the locals
are all friendly and the staff always happy to see you.
BROKEN HILL HOTEL | The beer garden here is huge
and provides a great atmosphere for a summer night.
The heritage and history of this place is a unique
experience in itself.
