The Port City’s oldest and greatest festival is back again for its 109th run. “Five years
ago, the whole festival program sat on the back of an A3 sheet of paper, and now it’s
a 50-page program,” says City of Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt. “It’s a nice reminder
of what makes Fremantle different – a celebration of its people and its culture.” Old
favourites such as the Children’s Fiesta at Samson Park, the Blessing of the Fleet and
the Wardarnji are joined by a heap of new events. Young music lovers can head down
to the Esplanade Youth Plaza to see the Norfolk Lanes Youth Festival combine with
action-packed skating and parkour. New jazz and theatre programs will be popping up
to delight crowds, and as always the Street Parade will storm the pavement to close
this 15-day extravaganza. Fremantle, Oct 26-Nov 9.

Lose yourself in the alleyways and hidden nooks that embellish our beloved Leedy and
